Disposal of E-Waste During COVID-19: Social Distance Spring Cleaning?

Posted by:

E-Waste Assassin is still here for you! We have the ability to take e-waste drop offs at our office Fridays, 10:30am to 6pm. You will no longer be required to stay and fill out a transfer of ownership document for residential e-waste disposal unless you request one. We do, however, request that you call ahead and make an appointment.

Appointments will be approximately 15 to 30 minutes long. Drop-off is now by appointment only so that we can limit the number of people in the office at one time. It also allows us to sanitize the office between clients. After each client appointment, we wipe down the doors, counters, pens, and anything else that was touched with bleach. Our floors are cleaned via steam mop. If you’re uncomfortable or unable to come inside, we can retrieve your e-waste from your car. Just call us from the curb, and we’ll be happy to help.

Fees and Costs:

There is never a fee for most e-waste drop-off. If you have an old CRT TV or monitor, there is a disposal fee of $35. Any hard drive in a laptop or desktop computer will be securely wiped for a fee of $10. This ensures that any remaining data is removed and unable to be recovered. After we wipe your drive, we send you a certificate showing that it has been erased.

If the electronic equipment you’re finding in your closet needs to go, we can help. We will take those old laptops, aging cell phones, useless remotes and even that box of mystery cables. Proper disposal of e-waste is just as important now as ever. When this is over, our environmental issues will still be here, waiting for attention. Rather than put that on pause, we have doubled-down on our commitment to disposing of e-waste appropriately. We only have one planet, and we all need to take care of it.
